About our Trainers

Scott Pettersson

Well-respected and seen as a leading mind in the area of Building and Construction Industry Payments Act, Scott Pettersson is a qualified lawyer and negotiator. He has been involved in steering committees that designed and promoted the 2003 changes to the NSW legislation and was also involved in implementing the legislation in Queensland and Victoria. Most recently, he was asked to advise the ACT Government and discuss the merits of the known scheme implemented in the nearby States and the problems with the UK model of the legislation. 

Scott is regularly engaged by both the public and private sector to assist in all aspects of the use of the Act. He has provided training to a number of the key government officials and has been engaged by the Tasmanian Government to assist them in delivering a round of introductory training for their version of the legislation. 

He is active in all aspects of the legislation from advising parties, through adjudication and training.  Scott is also the author of the very well received series of annotated versions of the legislation in both New South Wales and Queensland.

Scott was the Chief Executive Officer of LEADR (an authorised nominating authority holding appointment by the Ministers in Queensland, NSW and Victoria) and was the lead trainer to Adjudicators at LEADR.
